On 14 Mar 2012, the much-celebrated Polar Researcher and Founder of the China Polar Museum Foundation, Dr. Rebecca Lee, shared with 34 Zontians and friends her decades-long observations and learnings from living and conducting scientific, environmental research studies at the poles. As the first woman explorer to reach the Arctic, Antarctic and Mount Everest, Rebecca’s talk was charged with a quiet but exceptional passion and positivity, though the scenarios she painted were gloomy. We all got away with a deepened respect for those who made sacrifices for the wider good of human kind and a renewed commitment to do our best to protect our environment.
