Fund-raising
Walkathon 2006
Zonta Club of Victoria successfully held its first fund-raising walkathon in 2006, More than 100 participants joined this meaningful and fun-filled charity walk. We managed to raise more than 1.1 million of donations for our Charitable Trust which will in turn fund many of our community projects.
Charity Sale 2010
Our Club held a Charity Sale on November 6 and 7, 2010. All the participants – customers, volunteers and members had great fun and at the same time we have raised funds to support our social services programmes in serving the local communities. We like to thank all our sponsors and customers in making this fundraising project a reality!
Love ideas
our club joined hands with the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society to take part in the “Love Ideas Love Hong Kong” campaign, run by the Li Ka Shing Foundation, with a project called “Girls with Dream”. We were luckily awarded a funding of HK$300,000 by the Foundation to roll out this meaningful project. “Girls with Dreams” aims at facilitating these girls to assert their own identities and values, through coaching and sex education workshops
Walkathon 2013
The Club held a Charity walk on 10 March 2013 morning at the Inspiration Lake of Disneyland, which was well attended by over 120 participants. It was a sunny day with nice weather – a terrific day for an outdoor fellowship event too. A total of over HK$650,000 was raised through this event, which will be used to sponsor women empowerment related social projects, particularly those designed to end violence against women – echoing Zonta International’s "Zonta Says No"- campaign.
A big thank-you to all donors for helping us make the world a better and safer place for women and children.
Fund Raising Walkathon on 7 March 2015
A fund-raising walkathon was successfully held by the Zonta Club of Victoria in the afternoon of 7 March at Tai Tam Waterworks Heritage Trail with around 80 participants. Zonta Area 2 Director (AD) Winnie Wong and ex-AD Linda Wang started the walk with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Together we celebrated the launching of the new District 17 web and commemorated Zonta Rose Day for 8 March.
Participants were our club members, sister club Zontians, family and friends. They not only took part in the walk, but also a treasure hunt game planned by the walkathon organizing committee. Winners of the treasure hunt game were presented with attractive prizes sponsored by Sasa International Holdings Limited, 3 Kings Holdings Limited and Cosmopolitan respectively. Participants also got nourished by water sponsored by Watsons, a roll-on headache relief by Migragone and delicious calcium tablets by 3 Kings.
We had a great time bonding and collaborating in Zonta spirit and sisterhood, with fun and fullfilment. Hopefully we have drummed up more attention to our Zonta mission and vision and our campaign of Zonta Says No to violence against women. The funds raised will certainly help us to continue to do so.
